This Privacy Policy explains how Six Beacon Studios handles information in the ShiftHelm Android app and on the Six Beacon Studios website. It applies to ShiftHelm, package name com.sixbeaconstudios.shifthelm, and this website.
Privacy at a glance
ShiftHelm does not require an account. Your schedules and records are stored on your device, and the current version does not send them to Six Beacon Studios. ShiftHelm does not contain advertising or analytics services, and Six Beacon Studios does not sell app or website data.
Information stored by ShiftHelm
Information you enter in ShiftHelm may include shifts, events, notes, locations, custom event types and patterns, overtime and court records, employer or client details, mileage or distance information, and app settings. This information is stored locally on your device so the app and its home-screen widgets can provide their features. Six Beacon Studios does not receive this locally stored information.
Calendar access
ShiftHelm asks for permission to read your device calendar only when you choose the Import Calendar feature. If permission is granted, the app can display calendars available on your device and import event details from the calendars and date range you select. Imported details may include an event title, start and end time, all-day status, location, description, and calendar name. ShiftHelm does not modify or delete events in the source calendar. Imported copies are stored locally with the rest of your ShiftHelm data.
Notifications and widgets
If you enable reminders, ShiftHelm uses notification permission to schedule notifications on your device. The app may respond after the device restarts so enabled reminders can continue to work. Home-screen widgets use app-prepared data stored on the device to show calendar, upcoming-event, overtime, and court information. These features do not send that information to Six Beacon Studios.
Backups, imports, and exports
ShiftHelm creates or reads files only when you choose a backup, restore, calendar export, or overtime and mileage export action. You choose the file and, where applicable, where it is saved or shared. Exported files are outside ShiftHelm's local storage and remain until you delete them. If you send a file to another app or storage provider, that service's privacy practices also apply.
Feedback and support
When you use Review & Email Feedback, ShiftHelm prepares a draft in your installed email app. The draft may contain the feedback type, title, description, steps to reproduce a problem, expected result, and a reply address if you choose to provide one. Nothing is sent until you review the draft and choose Send. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include and use it to respond, provide support, and maintain appropriate support records.
Data retention and deletion
Data stored in ShiftHelm remains on your device until you delete records, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app does not delete backup or export files saved elsewhere; you control those files through your device or storage provider. To request deletion of information you previously sent to Six Beacon Studios by email, contact us at the address below.
Website information
This website does not ask you to create an account or submit information through a web form. Our hosting provider may process technical details needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp. The site does not intentionally use advertising cookies, third-party advertising trackers, or analytics.
Security
We design ShiftHelm to keep its records on your device, but no storage method is completely secure. Protect your device and keep backups and exports in a secure location, especially when they contain work, client, court, or financial details.

We may update this policy when ShiftHelm, the website, or our practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
